The City of the South, North, East, and Midwest
So like, where is West Virginia anyway? It's like in the east, but like Virginia is concidered to be in the South, and so is Kentucky, but Kentucky is more West than Ohio, but Ohio is Midwest, and Maryland and Pennsylvania are North, and Virginia is more West than West Virginia? Is West Virginia it's own sub-continent? We'd like to think so, so we would like to welcome you to the continent of West Virginia. We have one country, West Virginia. Sort of like Antarctica but like people live here (kind of). At the bottom of this great country is a city named Bluefield. Named for the Chicory flowers that bloom during the spring, it was a staple for coal barons in the mid 1900's. But once the coal mines in Pocahontas, Virginia were used most of the railway business left. The beautiful houses that they had left were gutted and left standing to this day, a grim reminder of what the city once was. There have been many building collapses, found meth labs, and murders in recent years. Bluefield is in a deep hole that seems unlikely to get out of. We hope it does though. Go Beavers.
